Tipo U
The 1942 Type U was an improved version of the ER, in compliance with a standard of unification of the time (hence, probably, the denomination "U"). There was forced cooling of the engine by means of a fan, but not the usual ventilation duct around the cylinder. It was also equipped with a final reduction gear of the transmission ratio, giving rise to a series of "low gears" and one of "high gears". In combination with the gearbox with three gears plus reverse, there were in fact 3 x 2 = 6 forward gears, and 1 x 2 = 2 reverse gears. The fork and frame were reinforced. In this way the capacity exceeded 1000 kg.
