In September of 1957 Leopoldo Tartarini (who later founded Italjet) and Giorgio Monetti left Bologna on a pair of the newly announced 175T models (standard apart from the rear luggage racks). In 12 months they rode around the world providing excellent publicity for the company, which followed up by establishing sales outlets in many of the countries they passed through. The pair returned in triumph to Bologna on 5th September 1958, just in time to celebrate Ducati's filling the first five places at the Italian GP at Monza that day. Remarkably the bikes are still in the condition they finished the trip in!
