The original R/C 125 was a quite nicely styled, and in 1974 the AMF version appeared. The image of the later model does not show the original paint scheme - the new paint was green with horizontal lines across the fuel tank. Fuel tank and pillion seat were replaced and an incredible chain-protector was installed, a sort of half-moon. These changes were made apparently to make it look like a "Great American Freedom Machine".
In 1974 a modified model was introduced, with the exhaust pipe beneath the engine on the right hand side. According to the A.R.S.I.M.A some 998 machines were produced, but sources in the Harley world give far higher figures.
N.B. The original text was somewhat more confusing than what we have now, and it may well be that these are three different models, not two. Ed.
