Aermacchi 1970 M-65 Leggero

On the other side of the ocean, the Zeffiretto Sport 48S was named the M50S. It gained a larger taillight and lost the two toolboxes. This model lived to see only one year: 1966. It was replaced by the 65cc model M65S, very similar to the M-50 but with an increase in engine capacity. It also had higher handlebars, fashionable for the American market.

This model continued until 1970, when it was upgraded with a battery and an ignition lock. The battery was housed in an open carrier on the right side and the ignition lock on the left. Foot gear change was adopted in favour of hand change . This model was given the name "Leggero", and it was produced until 1971.
