SPECIFICATION
ENGINE TS1 High efficiency single cylinder two-stroke. Fan cooled, the fan being integral with the flywheel magneto. Aluminium piston. Steel connecting rod with heavy duty roller bearing big-end. Petroil lubrication (ratio 1 to 18).
TW2 and TW25 Vertical twin cylinder four-stroke with overhead valves operated by push rods from a single gear driven camshaft. Alloy cylinder head. Integral light alloy crankcase and cylinder barrel with cast in iron liners. Aluminium pistons. Steel connecting rods with thin wall high duty big end bearings. Wet sump lubrication with plunger type pump providing positive pressure oil feed to big ends and valve gear. One-piece steel crankshaft. Cooling by high efficiency fan incorporated with flywheel. Crankshaft mounted AC Alternator. Twin contact breakers and coils. Zenith carburetter with built in air cleaner.
GEARBOX TRANSMISSION Crankshaft mounted (engine speed) multi-plate clutch. Gear primary drive to four-speed gearbox which is cast integrally with the engine crankcase. Positive foot change operation with automatic neutral finder. Gears of hardened nickel and nickel chrome steel. Final drive by duplex chain (with tensioner) enclosed in aluminium oil bath casting which also forms rear suspension arm. Rear sprocket incorporates rubber damped hub centre.
FRAME Rigid tubular construction cradles engine gear unit.
BODY Pressed steel construction beautifully styled. Completely enclosed engine and transmission and the spacious platform and front apron give very efficient weather protection Twinseat cushioned with latex foam and hinged for instant access to engine compartment and fuel and oil reservoirs, Comfortable shaped handlebars with car type instrument panel.
SUSPENSION Front suspension comprises double plunger type fork assembly in light alloy casting which also forms part of front hub. Coil spring suspension hydraulically damped. Swinging arm rear suspension with single combined suspension/damper unit.
WHEELS Quickly detachable car type of pressed steel. Interchangeable.
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
MODEL TSI 6 volt flywheel magneto with AC lighting coils giving 30 watts output which is rectified for lighting and battery charging. Car type head lamp, combined tail/stop lamp and horn.
MODEL TW2S (self starter) 12 volt electrical system incorporating AC alternator which provides current for lighting and ignition. Ignition by twin contact breakers and twin coils. Powerful starter motor engages ring gear on flywheel. Starter control adjacent to instrument panel. Efficient car type head lamp,combined tail/stop lamp and horn.
MODEL TW2 (Non-selfstarter) 6 volt electrical system which provides lighting equipment of comparable power to 12 volt model. Starting by foot pedal.
FUEL TANK Beneath twin seat. quick release filler cap. OH carried in engine sump with accessible dipstick.
