Presented at the Berlin auto show in 1936, the Quick was a 97cc two-stroke autocycle with bicycle pedals, a 2-speed gearbox with handlebar gear change, and a backpedal brake. Available in both ladies and a gents versions, it was very affordable and sales reflected this, making NSU one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world.
In 1938 an expanding rear brake was intoduced. Production resumed very shortly after the war, and in 1951 tyre size was increased from 26x2.25 to 26x2.50 allowing the carriage of a passenger on the optional carrier rack.
