Gilera Giubileo 98cc 1960
The name Giubileo means Anniversary in Italian and was first used by Gilera in 1959 to celebrate the company’s Golden Jubilee. Gilera released the Giubileo initially with 98cc or 124cc engines and followed these 150cc, 175cc, and 202cc versions.
The 98 had a 5.8 h.p. OHV single fitted with a 5-speed transmission. Weighing around 90kg, this sweet little machine achieve almost 80 km/h. Offered at an affordable price of 160,000 lire with many versions available such as Extra, Red, Sport, and Sei Giorni, nearly 60,000 units had been sold when production ceased in 1970.
