After Lapse of Years Levis Reintroduces 2-Stroke Model

DIAMOND FRAME
RISING rapidly to one of the most profitable agencies in the city, Levis this week reintroduces a 247 c.c. two-stroke model — the type of machine on which the make's reputation was founded years ago.
In the interim the firm concentrated on fast medium priced four-strokes, and distinguished itself by its up to the minute designs.
By re-introducing the two stroke the make will have wider appeal, particularly as the two-stroke is fairly fast and has a full-sized look about it.
Light Strong Frame
The motor, of 247 c.c. capacity, has twin exhaust pipes, detachable cylinder head, a specially designed combustion chamber to promote turbulence, and forced lubrication to all bearings. Transmission is by primary and secondary chains, both protected by steel guards, and three-speed gear Without sacrificing strength the diamond type frame is light and the tubular forks have hand adjustable shock absorbers.

ENGINE. " Levis " two-stroke, 67 m.m. bore, 70 m.m. stroke, 247 c.c.
Two exhaust ports, detachable cylinder head, heavily finned and with combustion chamber specially designed to promote turbulence. Robust solid crankshaft running in phosphor bronze bushes of exceptional size. All bearings positively lubricated by mechanical pump and sight feed.
GEARBOX. Three-speed under-slung with hand change lever in convenient position.
GEAR RATIOS. 5.2, 8.5, 13.9.
TRANSMISSION, ½in. x .205 Primary Chain, ½in. x .305 rear. Both chains protected by steel guard.
FRONT FORKS. Girder spring forks fitted with adjustable shock absorbers.
BRAKES. 6 in. front and rear.
TYRES. 26in. x 3.00 Dunlop.
TANK CAPACITY. Petrol 2 gallons, Oil 3 pints.
PETROL AND OIL CONSUMPTION. Petrol 110 m.p.g. Oil 1,000 m.p.g. approx.
GROUND CLEARANCE. 4¾in.
WHEEL BASE. 52¾in.
