A Brief History of the Italian Marque
In the 1920s Pirola Costante cycles of Monza produced motorcycles using engines built by Pietro Vassena of Malgrate, a manufacturer which began building engines for other motorcycle manufacturers in 1923. Vassena also designed the engine used in the Amisa
Vassena had built a 98 cc two-stroke with two speed gearbox and belt drive, a 106cc machine, and a 124cc engine for light motorcycles, but these rarely bear a mention given his much more famous achievements.
