A Brief History of the Marque

The company was founded by Ludwig Rüb who had been an engineer with the Hildebrand & Wolfmüller motorcycle company. He later began building machines with Dreher Christian Haab which used magneto ignition by Bosch.

In 1895 the firm became Rüb and Wegelin, and later Heinle & Wegelin which built De-Dion style tricycles.

Rüb joined Graf Zeppelin in 1896.
