BSA built its first experimental powered bicycle 1905 fitted with a Minerva engine, and announced in 1906 that they intended to produce motor bicycles. Production began in 1910, and were available to the public in 1911. That year BSA sold their entire production.

BSA announced 1912 models A, B, C and D in late 1911 as having interchangeable parts.

1916 Model K 550cc 4.25 hp Chain & Belt Drive 3 Speed. Model K production ceased in 1916 but resumed after the war and continued into the 1920s.
