Sydney Allard won the 1952 Monte Carlo Rally in a sports car of his own design, but sales were poor due to competition from larger companies such as Jaguar. He opted to enter the market for more economical machines - the Allard Clipper was designed by David Gottlieb, who had previously created the Cymota cyclemotor of 1950-1952. and featured a fibreglass body constructed by Hordern-Richmond Ltd. It was powered by a Villiers 346cc twin-cylinder engine that drove one of the rear wheels. It was claimed to seat three people abreast with room for two children in an optional dickey seat.
About 20 were made.
