Reliability is the primary consideration throughout the design of the No. B7 250 c.c. Super-sports "James," which is an entirely new model for 1930. Correct design has produced long-wearing qualities without undue weight. In common with other "James" models, the steering is perfect under all conditions. The engine is up-to-date in every way, and is a sound engineering job. The cylinder head is detachable, and is well cooled by radiating fins of correct section. Ball and roller bearings are fitted throughout, including the big end of the connecting rod. Other features are the silent timing gear, large diameter unbreakable valves, adjustable tappets, and the generous size tappet and valve guides. Lubrication is automatically and efficiently accomplished by mechanical pump.
