THE Vincent-H.R.D. concern is to be congratulated on the fact that it has never been deterred in its determination to popularise the spring frame. Thus, this form of frame construction is to be found on every machine, including, of course, the T.T. model.
For normal work, the “Meteor” model is deserving of attention. It is a fully equipped job, suitable alike for solo and sidecar work, and it is available in three different finishes—all-black, black and stainless-steel, and red and stainless-steel.
“Comet” Model.—498 c.c. single-cyl. o.h.v. Vincent-H.R.D.; dry-sump
lubrication; magneto ignition; all-chain drive; oil-bath primary chain case; 4-speed gear, with foot control;
fuel, 3¼ gals.; 26x3in. (front),-26x3.25in. (rear) tyres.
Price with electric lighting (solo), £86.
The “Comet” model is identical with the “Meteor,” but it has a highly-tuned engine and is capable of speeds in the neighbourhood of 90 m.p.h. This model, is also shown with a sidecar, and a particularly interesting variation of it is to be seen in the “trials” edition.
A point worth noticing is the provision of the rear wheel with two different sized sprockets, the wheel being reversible Another point—a small one—is the device on the chain case for testing the tension of the primary chain. The “Comet Special” has a T.T. engine and a choice of three gear boxes, each with different ratios.
Attention is also centred on the example of the T.T. model with “road-racing” written all over it.
