In 1961 Laverda produced their first twin-cylinder 200cc machine. This model has some interesting characteristics, using a frame of both pressed-metal and steel tubing. In order to reduce vibration the engine is mounted with a silent-bloc.
The engine is four-speed unit-construction push-rod twin which appeared in the late 'fifties in various stylings, and produced a smooth 11 bhp. It was produced until 1976 in several versions, one of which were for the Italian police. In total Laverda manufactured some 4,500 of the 'Bicilindrici' 200cc motorcycles.
