Société d'Etudes et Constructions d'Automobiles et Motorcycles in Chambly (65km north of Paris) built bicycle engines from 1951 until 1971. Later they built three-wheelers under the name Addax with Sachs engines, and in 1978 after the firm's acquisition by Jaques Riboud the vehicles were named the Vitrex Addax.

In the mid-70s they marketed the Snuggy microcar which was designed by Autozodiaco and built in Italy where it was sold as the Charly.
