Cicca Véloreve

153 rue Noisy le Sec, Les Lilas, Paris (c.1949)

Compagnie Industrielle et Commerciale du Cycle et de l'Automobile (C.I.C.C.A) was founded around 1921 and became a car and motorcycle dealer, and a manufacturer of accessories - principally horns and headlamps - with dealers throughout Europe and as far afield as Calcutta and Canada.

From 1949 until about 1953 the firm built Cicca Véloreve 48cc single-speed auxilliary bicycle engines which were fitted to other marques, the Scoto Tubauto for instance.

Moped-se has photographs of two different machines which both have ABG clearly visible on engine covers, and they question whether there was a business association between the two firms.

Cicca filed for bankruptcy in 1958.

Other Paris addresses are given - 19 avenue de la Porte des Ternes (Station Service 1949), and 129 avenue Malakoff (1927); manufacturing took place in Saint Etienne.

Its principle is substantially the same as the previous one (Le Poulain).

It is remarkable for its manufacture and its equipment: Improved air intake at the carburettor, forming air filter and shutter for departures, boot trigger for the exhaust, cylinder and aluminum cylinder head. Its support allows easy adjustment of the roller pressure on the tire. The Vélo-Réve is detachable. Its displacement is 49 cmc. (40x39.5). The power reaches 1 CV at maximum speed of 4,200 rpm ... which ensures a speed of 40 km / h. The 2 liter tank allows you to travel 130 kilometers without refueling.

The Vélo-Réve Cicca equips the curious Scoto we talked about in our last issue.
