A Brief History of the Marque

Ets Faizant fils et Cie
4 Rue Hoche, Colombes (Seine)

A.G.F. are the initials of Andre and and his father George Faizant.

Based in Colombes they produced their first scooter with a 98cc Jonghi 3-speed engine in 1947 which was displayed at that year's Foire de Paris, and later the same year at the Paris Salon they presented a version powered by a 125cc Ydral engine

1950 saw the introduction of scooters with 100cc and 125cc Aubier-Dunne engines.

Many machines were fitted with Ydral engines of 125 and 175 cm3 and had 17in wheels along with fully enclosed chains and cantilever rear suspension, and some had aluminium alloy frames. Colour was usually bright red with a metalic lustre.

Mopeds were built from 1951 until 1957 using engines from Cucciolo, Le Poulain and SER.

Machines built from 1952 to 1954 were branded Faizant prior to the merger with Guiller SA in late '54. There was also a relationship with Lucer of Hazebrouk, who built their machines under licence.

Racing success at the Bol d'Or of 1954 (a fourth and a fifth) was repeated in 1955 with results closer to the podium.

Models include:

Type C128 1949 scooter, alloy 4-spoke wheels. Prototype.

The term "Compétition Client" (production racer) is clearly an advertising term - it was never meant for the race track. Their similar dual-seat 125cc model is advertised as taking 1st and 2nd place in the 1954 Bol d'Or.
