A Brief History of the Marque
Made in England between 1904 and 1922, initially with Kelecom and Minerva engines. The first machine was built by Sidney Shaw, son of Ambrose who had been building bicycles in Crawley, West Sussex, since the 1880s.
They may have been associated with Shaw Mfg. Co. of Galesburg, Kansas, USA, who made bicycle attachment motors from quite early on, and built complete complete motorcycles from 1912 to 1914. The American Shaw of 1912 was a single of 15
cubic inches with belt drive, rigid front and rear, and Schebler carburettor. Other models used the Breeze carburettor.
