Manufactured by Lightburn & Co. Ltd., Camden, South Australia
Based on the British Anzani Astra, the outlandish Zeta microcar had a locally made fibreglass body powered initially by a Villiers 324cc two-stroke twin and then by an Excelsior three-cylinder engine. Having purchased the rights to the Astra (UK) chassis, 28 front-wheel-drive minicars were built from 1964 to 1966.
One of these participated in the gruelling 7000 mile Ampol Trial of 1964.
Lightburn was a well-established manufacturer of tools, cement mixers, washing machines and fiberglass boats.
