Manufactured by Charles Astley of Astley Cycles and Motor Cycles, 537 Mt. Alexander Rd., Moonee Ponds, Victoria in the years 1911 to 1918.
Motorcycles were built using single and twin-cylinder Fafnir, Precision and JAP engines mounted in Chater-Lea frames.
Astley suffered serious injuries in a fall in 1918 and spent the next two years in hospital. During this time his apprentice, Fred Albon, ran the shop. Prior to his accident it is estimated that nine Astley machines were constructed, and it seems likely that subsequently others, for instance the Over-Seas from Birmingham, were rebranded with the Astley name.
