Franco Oliani sent us these pictures of the HRD junior speedway machine. It was released by the 'HRD motor' firm from Busto Arsizio (Italy) in 1981. This firm was born on the initiative of minibikes enthusiast Luciano Marabese with the economical support of Franco Galli, while the initials HRD stand for 'Happy Red Devils'. The speedway model had been properly projected to meet the requirements of those young conductors (7-12 aged) willing to start with this kind of racing. It was powered by a 'Franco Morini' automatic radial engine with kick starting.
The frame was in CrMo steel and the engine bracket plates were in anodized Avional. The handlebar was in aluminium alloy, the fuel tank in synthetic unbreakable glass (1 lt. capacity). Finally, the rims were from Akront, the hubs in aluminium and the mudguard was in ABS.
