Parts Books
There are only two factory produced parts books for the high-cam models. The first version (in Italian) was printed in 1954 and a later second version in 1957. This second updated book had English/Italian text and USA copies had a strip of paper covering the Italian lira amounts with its dollar equivalent. On some later parts books, Cosmo glued a piece of paper to the cover telling the buyer what models this book covered and the date of the prices. These books were used by Cosmo well into the 60's. Cosmo also made cheap copies of these books. These copies had several parts book pages shrunk down onto one sheet of paper and the papers stapled together. I'm not sure if these copies were handed out free or if there was a charge. There was also a 250 Wildcat supplement for Wildcat only parts.

Dealer parts poster - In the late 50's the factory printed up parts posters for the USA dealers. Extremely rare and fragile, these 27.5"x 39" posters were made for other models as well. |
Owner Manuals
There were four owner manuals printed for the high-cam models. One was an early Instruction book 4.5"x6.75"(1954?) followed by a slimmer 3.25"x6.5" book for the 175 & 250cc models. And lastly, a one sheet, fold-out copy of the book was made by Cosmo.

Shop Manuals
There was one official factory shop manual for the high-cam and a cheaply made copy by Cosmo. The factory version had an orange cover with the Parilla logo on the front, while the Cosmo copy was printed on some of the worst quality paper stapled together. Inside the "good" version, the Italian text was replaced with a typewritten translation that in some cases, didn't make sense. Some shop manuals and tuning information was packaged together by Cosmo for their "Parilla school" classes to teach mechanics high-cam maintainance. Most repair/rebuild information today is passed on through people who have worked on the motors for years while racing the bikes.
Cosmo Speed Tuning Book
Cosmo offered a speed tuning book for people that wanted to race their GS bikes. This ten page book was loaded with ideas and tips to improve the high-cam.
