The Sunbeam DT90

Sunbeam DT9

Sunbeam DT9

This "Sunbeam" was formerly ridden by the legendary Gus Kuhn and was the first Sunbeam to appear on the Dirt Track circuits.

The DT90 had a twin port engine but this was quickly superceded by a single-port model.

In 1930 Sunbeam listed the DTR dirt-track racer, most of which were fitted with single-port Model 90 engines and a shortened frame, lowered engine, no gears and 28 inch wheels. Initially it was fitted with Druid forks which the were later replaced with Webb speedway forks due to reportedly poor handling.

N.B. Sources give somewhat different accounts.
