A Brief History of the Italian Marque
Fert was built from 1925 to 1929 1, by Ferruccio Calamida. The registered office of the brand was at via Cesare Correnti.
The engine that powered the Fert was designed by the engineers Bonamore and Forlani (who also designed the FVL engine), a single cylinder OHC four stroke of 173cc with a two-speed gearbox and hand change mounted on the tank.
The front forks are Druid type with short springs acting in compression.
The machine was available in two versions, Turismo and Sport Turismo.
Fert entered competition with Vittorio Aldi but the only success achieved by the rider San Camillo Saini in the Como-Maurizio race held in 1929.
They gained a first in category in a cross country competition which took place in Milan, and a Fert sidecar combination won the Milan-Stresa regularity trial.
