A Brief History of the Italian Marque
In the early years of the twentieth century the firm Barnett & Scotti, with registered office at Foro Bonaparte in Milan, was Italian representative for Minerva engines of Belgium.
In 1903 the company was disolved. Carlo Scotti became the sole owner of the reformed company in 1904, resuming production of Barscott engines which were sold to other motorcycle manufacturers, including Maffeis.
The firm also built complete motorcycles in a variety of displacements, both singles and v-twins.
The rider Charles Maffeis was successful in competition aboard a Barscott.
The firm also sold two or more German motorcycle brands.
Carlo Scotti & C. encountered financial difficulties and in 1905 entered liquidation.
