A Brief History of the Marque
Manufactured by Adolf Esch, Cologne, 1927-1930
Adolf Esch, who had raced Chater-Lea and KBM machines, built sports and touring motorcycles to order using 250cc to 500cc engines from JAP, Blackburne and MAG. He also built racing machines which did quite well.
Adolf died of an illness in 1941 and the Cologne workshops were destroyed during the war. Post-war the family continued in the automotive trade into the early 1970s with Anneliese Esch at the helm.
N.B. koelner-zweiraeder.de spells it "Esch-Rekord", and writes that three machines have survived.
