A Brief History of the Marque
Manufacturer: Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Firmen Schulz und Beckmann (ASB) (Association of Schulz and Beckmann Company)
ASB produced small capacity scooters and mopeds between 1953 and 1955. There were initially five models, but despite favourable reports in the motoring press the company did not prosper, largely due to the stiff competition from larger manufacturers, and ceased production in 1955.
Models included the 48cc ASB Roller powered by a Zündapp Combimot KM48 two-stroke engine, with a speed of 50kph. In 1955/56 the mopeds were also offered under the Beckmann brand.
N.B. The company is unrelated to the much earlier auto firm Otto Beckmann & Co. of Breslau.
