Socol Motorcycles

Established in 1908 at in Rue Parmentier, Saint-Étienne, Société Anonyme des Constructions Mecaniques de la Loire built motorcycles using single-port and twin-port two-stroke engines c1952-1959.

At some stage Automoto obtained the rights to the name and produced motorcycles under the "Socol" marque from 1957-1959. These were named Type SCL (and possibly MSCL) and were powered by 125cc/175cc Aubier & Dunne two-stroke engines - they were in most respects identical to the Automoto.
