Maucourant Motorcycles

A Brief History of the Marque

Manufactured: ca 1947-1949

René Maucourant built only a limited number of machines, many of them for competition and powered by Ydral engines. These had custom cylinder heads with finning to enhance cooling.

In 1946 he won the 125cc class of the Circuit de Saint Cloud, and he competed in the 1947 Bol d'Or 125 class.

Earlier, Maucourant collaborated with Anatole Lardy in the development of the Ydral engine, and raced Mandille et Roux machines. He was regarded as a fine rider, a very good mechanic and, as they say in Australia, a "top bloke".
