Historical Notes

A bicycle manufacture, Pierre Mêmes of Saint-Hermine, Vendée, entered the motorcycle business in 1921 with a lightweight presented at the Paris Salon, as mentioned in The Motor Cycle of October 13th.

In 1924 a 125cc Train-engined machine was exhibited at that year's Salon.

The firm produced mopeds including the Hermanette from 1950 until 1953 when it closed, shortly before the death of the founder in 1957, aged 80.

He is best known in the cycling world.
