Manufactured in Aussig 1903~1907
Founded in 1896, the Rösler & Jauernig bicycle factory of northern Bohemia created an automobile and motorcycle division in 1903. Using an Adler motorcycle and an Adler car they began developing their own machines, the first of which was presented to the general public at local show in February 1904. At the Vienna show that year they presented five motorcycles, some with Zedel engines and some with the earlier Adler AIV motors.
All of those offered in 1904 had chain drive to the rear wheel - only the pre-production machines of 1903 had belt drive. They were also outfitted with both front and rear suspension, unheard of in the day. Models included singles and twins, and they performed very well in trials and competition.
Zedel engines fitted in 1904 were 2½ HP, 2¾ HP and 3½ HP singles. The first twin arrrived in late 1904, but without rear suspension to cut costs. More changes arrived in 1905, with suspension removed in favour of a rigid frame.
1907 models had 353cc and 475cc singles, and 493cc and 706cc twins. The range included two sidecars, one an elegant wicker basket and the other all-metal resembling an elevated armchair.
Production over the 5 or so years may have been as high as 200 motorcycles, according to libormarcik.cz who presents considerable research on the marque.
