Triple H Motorcycles 1922-23

Hobbis Brothers and Horrell of Northfield, Birmingham produced the Triple H between 1922 and 1923. This was a lightweight fitted with a 247cc Morris two-stroke engine. It had a Moss two-speed gearbox, with clutch and kick-starter, and Maplestone centre-spring forks. It also had a special cast silencer with detachable plate for ease of cleaning.

Triplette

They also built the Triplette, a fairly basic motorcycle, between 1923 and 1925. Powered by a 147cc Villiers two-stroke engine, it came with an Albion two-speed gearbox or with direct-belt drive. It had very wide mudguards at the front, so the fork blades had to pass through slots cut into the top of the guard.

The venture was very short lived.

Only one example of the Triple H is known to survive, and is in private hands in the UK.

Massey-Arran, when they encountered difficulties in 1923, advised that spares would be available through Hobbis Bros.

A forum post mentions that Frank Baker moved into the Alverchurch premises of Hobbis Bros and Horrell after Precision closed.
