Karl Cerny

Austrian publisher hollinek.at writes: "Karl Cerny's swingarm design

Shortly before the First World War, the teacher Karl Cerny from Herzogenburg in Lower Austria built his first "Schwingenfluger", which was lost during the war years.

Years after the end of the war he began to work on it. His goal was to develop a swing arm plane, called "The Flying Motorbike", that was affordable for everyone and ready for series production. To finance the project, he founded the "Society of Swinging Pilots". This publication tells the story of whether the “flying motorcycle” ever took off and flapped through the air like a bird, and whether Karl Cerny was a brilliant inventor, charlatan or swindler."
