Son of Norm Askew, Carl was introduced to motorcycling at a very early age. He did his apprenticeship with Amalgamated Scooters and went on to become an international speedway star. He later ran a motorcycle business in Sydney before moving to the Southern Highlands of NSW where maintains strong links with motorcycle community. A confessed hoarder, he has collected mountains of motorcycle memorabilia and spare parts.
