Autocycles
Autocycles were bicycles manufactured with an engine attached and the fore-runner of the sixties moped. The machines had pedals, engines (generally of 98cc) and usually
some type of bodywork. The frames, brakes, wheels and tyres, were more substantial than bicycles, and there was usually some type of girder fork front suspension.
Many types were produced in Britain, such as New
Hudson, Raynal, James,
Excelsior
and Bown.
